About Me
Hello! My name is Jordan and I’ve been playing music since I was a child (almost 20 years at this point!). I started playing the cello age 9 and took up the piano when I was 12. I’ve always had a passion for music and I was involved in several youth orchestras during my school years.
I decided to study Music at Queen’s University Belfast, earning my Bachelor’s with Honours in 2016. I had always wanted to teach, so following this, I moved to Scotland and completed my PDGE in Primary Education in 2017. I spent several years teaching in a primary school in Fife.
When the pandemic hit a few years ago, lockdown led to me rediscovering my passion for music, and a newfound passion for the piano. It was then that I decided to combine my two main skills and become a piano teacher. I moved home to Northern Ireland and set up to teach here.
My teaching philosophy focuses on putting the student first and teaching music holistically, rather than just rote learning. I am inspired by Paul Harris’ Simultaneous Learning framework and I use this approach in my teaching.
